What is good

Numerous structures are very close to spawn, including a Ruined Portal, Buried Treasure, and Mineshaft.
A Mushroom Fields biome is accessible within about 566 blocks.
Lush caves are present under 11% of the local underground.
A Nether fortress is relatively close at about 133 nether-side blocks from a portal at spawn.

What to watch out for

The spawn area itself is flat and lacks dramatic terrain features.
Rare biomes like Dark Forest or Flower Forest are over 800 blocks away.
Some of the more sought-after structures, like a Woodland Mansion or Ancient City, require significant travel.

Around spawn

You begin on a small sandy beach, directly facing a large body of water. Behind you, a dense forest transitions into a taiga, with some hilly terrain further inland.

Structures

Beyond the very close structures, an Ocean Monument and a Village are both around 361 blocks from spawn. A Woodland Mansion is quite a distance, about 1581 blocks away, and an Ancient City is even further at around 1690 blocks.

Biomes

While spawn is beach-adjacent, the area is dominated by Cold Ocean and Deep Cold Ocean. Other notable biomes within 600 blocks include a significant Mushroom Fields area and a few Windswept Hills biomes.
