Seed Checker for Minecraft: Is This Seed Worth Playing?
Check any Minecraft seed in seconds: the seed checker scans around spawn for lava pools, villages, portals and strongholds, then grades it. Java & Bedrock.
Paste a seed and the Seed Checker looks at what generated around spawn, from a lava pool and a village to a ruined portal and the distance to the stronghold, and turns it into a score and a letter grade.
How to use it
- Open the Seed Checker with the button above.
- Enter the seed, then choose the edition and version the world will be played on.
- Run the check. It scans the Overworld around the world spawn.
- Read the grade, then open the details to see every feature it found, what each one scored and where it is.
- Check your other candidates the same way; each seed keeps its own link, so you can share the winner.
Good to know
The grade is built around what saves time at the start of a world. Tier S features are worth 20 points each: a lava pool near spawn for a quick nether portal, a village, a stronghold within reach. Tier A finds such as ruined portals, shipwrecks and buried treasure are worth 5, and Tier B extras such as pillager outposts and woodland mansions add 2. The total sets the letter grade.
The number never stands alone. The details list every feature that scored, with its position, so you can tell whether a high grade came from a perfect lava pool or from a lucky stronghold, and decide whether that suits the way you play.
Known limitations
- It rates the area around spawn for a fast start. Scenery, terrain and building spots aren't part of the score.
- A low grade is not a bad world: a seed can keep its best features farther out than the check looks.
- Chest loot isn't predicted, so a shipwreck or buried treasure counts for being there, not for what's inside.

Questions
How does the seed checker decide if a seed is good?
It scans the area around spawn and scores what it finds in tiers: 20 points for Tier S essentials like a nearby lava pool, village or close stronghold, 5 for Tier A finds like ruined portals, shipwrecks and buried treasure, and 2 for Tier B extras like outposts and mansions. The total becomes a letter grade.
Is the Seed Checker the same as the Seed Analyzer?
Yes. It's the same tool under the name most people search for, and links to the old Seed Analyzer still open it.
Does the seed checker work for Bedrock seeds?
Yes, for Java and Bedrock alike. Pick the edition and version before you run it, because the same seed number builds a different world on each.
Can I use it to choose between several seeds?
That is what it does best. Check each one, compare the grades, and open the details when two are close. Every checked seed is a single link you can bookmark or send to friends.
